Why Do ESL Students Like Halifax?
ESL students love Halifax for many reasons. First there are the educational reasons. The students can benefit more from their studies due to the fact that there is not much opportunity to speak their own native language in Halifax, therefore English must be used almost all of the time. The schools are great and teachers well trained. Another selling point is that the schools have students from many different countries all studying together. They truly enjoy the international friendships and often keep in touch long after they have moved on. They build lifelong relationships with people from all over the world.

Students also like Halifax because it is a small and friendly city with about 400,000 people. It is a beautiful clean city where the people are known for being friendly and happy to talk with and welcome international visitors and students.

Another attraction is the broad range of entertainment. Students love to take advantage of all of what Halifax offers by trying out its many different restaurants and pubs and then going to dance. Every night of the week there is something to do, whether it be movies at Park Lane, wing night at "The Moustache" or even a nice harbour boat cruise with dinner by moonlight overlooking the exciting city.
